|EMS Week 2019|
|May 19, 2019|
On November 5th, 1974, President Gerald Ford declared the first ever "Emergency Medical Services Week". Throughout the years EMS providers spend this week being recognized by their respective municipalities as well as employers, public service agencies and their communities. During this time EMS Practitioners are given a universal theme that is set forth by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). This year our theme is "EMS Strong: Beyond The Call".
Throughout this past week members of Columbia EMS have participated in different activities that involved, education of the Kindergarten students of Park Elementary School, Practitioner recognition, event gathering of education and much more.
On May 14th, 2019, Borough of Columbia Mayor Leo Lutz read a Proclamation during the monthly Borough Council Meeting proclaiming EMS Week as designated May 19th thru May 25th, 2019.
We are appreciative of the local representatives of government who afford us the opportunity to provide patient care to the residents and visitors of Columbia Borough at a moments notice.
"We're there, because we care!"
